The Deal

Covering fashion, nightlife, shopping and culture, Style Section L.A. is the leading regional digital media outlet dedicated to showcasing the talents and trends that shape style in Los Angeles.

Marrying the evocative storytelling and lush, original photography of old-school newspaper journalism with modern day speed and spunk, the site puts users on the inside track of local and national style, cluing them in on the city's rich cultural landscape—from that ultra-happening bar downtown and secret vintage shopping spot in Los Feliz to the profound social implications of side ponytails.

 

Style Section L.A.'s scope and speed speaks to the city's style- makers, fashion fanatics and culture hounds. Through photo galleries, videos, Twitter tips and users-only promotional offers, Style Section L.A. navigates the style landscape in real time.

Emili Vesilind, Editor-in-Chief: Formerly a Fashion Staff Writer at the Los Angeles Times and the West Coast Retail Editor of Women’s Wear Daily, Emili has also contributed to the Daily Beast, Los Angeles Magazine, W magazine and the New York Post, among others.

Erin Weinger, Publisher: Erin was a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times Image section, where she had a weekly column highlighting retail happenings in Los Angeles. After leaving the Times, she spent a short time consulting on new media projects for L.A.-based fashion public relations firm SPR, strategizing the social media campaigns for accounts including The Grove and The Way We Wore. Her work has also appeared in Entrepreneur, Time Out Chicago, Angeleno, HollywoodLife.com, InStyle.com, PAPER, Antenna, Palm Springs Life and Riviera.

Andrew Harmon, Editor-in-Large: A former West Coast Editor for men’s fashion bible, DNR, Andrew is the current Senior News Editor for The Advocate.

Jeremy Allen, Writer: Having just received his bachelor of  fine arts degree from U.S.C., Jeremy Allen received his "real world" education interning at Vogue,WWD and ;font-size: x-small;">DNR, where he interned in both the editorial and fashion departments. When not contributing to Style Section L.A. or Pool Tradeshow Magazine, Jeremy loves traipsing around L.A. with his clunky Vivitar film camera.   


Lizzy Epstein, Writer: Lizzy is a veteran freelance writer based in L.A. who masterfully (and unabashedly) mixes Chanel diamond necklaces with hippie dresses. Her work has appeared in Paper, Women's Wear Daily and W, among others.

Ronit Nabi, Contributing Fashion Editor: Ronit Nabi is a freelance stylist in Los Angeles who's contributed to the L.A. Times, Harper's Bazaar and InStyle, among others.

Robin Lee, Writer: Robin is a freelance writer and editor celebrating her fifth year living in L.A. She has covered art, architecture and home design for several Robb Report titles and currently writes for REVOLVEclothing.com and FarFetch.com


Chad Wilson, Photographer: Chad Wilson contributes to Style Section L.A., works in creative and business development abroad and owns his own firm, William Charles. His portfolio can be viewed at chadjwilson.com.


Sierra Feldner-Shaw, Writer: Sierra is a writer and editor originally from Oregon, and excels in finding cool stories for Style Section L.A.

 

Kavita Daswani, Writer: Kavita is a Los Angeles-based freelance writer who contributes to the Los Angeles Times, Women's Wear Daily, Style Section L.A., the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong and Vogue India.  Her fifth novel, The Ring, comes out in spring 2011.

 

Olivia Smith, Writer: A born-and-bred Angeleno, Olivia is currently studying media and journalism at NYU. 

 

Caitlin Monaghan, Marketing Manager: After picking up some hearty survival skills in Chicago, Caitlin migrated back to California (she is a San Francisco native) in 2010. Caitlin has a background in journalism and marketing, and has worked at Time Out Chicago magazine as well as Event Architects, an international event marketing firm with a client list that includes Obama for America, the Presidential Inaugural Committee and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions. She picked up a degree at Loyola University of Chicago as well as an education in fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. In addition to the Angelino fashion scene, Caitlin enjoys opera, using YouTube as an educational resource, watching old films and sad attempts at improving her guitar skills.

 

Rakhee Bhatt, Writer: Rakhee is a Los Angeles-based writer who loves everything having to
do with fashion, cultural happenings, travel, and photography. She is a
graduate of the NYU School of Journalism and FIDM Professional Merchandise
Marketing Program. Rakhee's prior work and internship experience includes
Hearst Publications, Conde Nast, Wenner Media, National Geographic
Society, and Kira Plastinina.
