The School of Style, the how-to-be-a-stylist workshop founded by wardrobe stylist Luke Storey, is back in session next Sunday, November 29. And the class should quickly dispel the myth that styling is an “easy job.”
The eight hour classroom session ($280), which takes place at Smashbox Studios’ almost-West Hollywood location, isn’t for the casual dresser looking to score free clothes. The intense workshop teaches pupils how to operate as an independent contractor in the eyes of the tax man, how to handle pulls and returns and how to put together a book that will get you booked.
Once you complete day one, you can sign up to go on a pull with Luke and, if you’re still into it, even opt to go on an actual shoot (Storey’s own book has tears from Spin and 944, not to mention celebs including Kanye, so chances are you’ll get to see something cool).
Way awesome concept to groom people for a profession that, while quite glamorous, is quite complicated as well.
There is still room to register at theschoolofstyle.com
