Remember fashion before the days of A: celebrity lines and B: designer collaborations? Me neither. Point B is certainly preferable to Point A, however. It seems everyone is getting into the action. For fall, Florsheim, the shoe brand favored by not-a-slave-to-fashion dads everywhere, partnered with Duckie Brown for a superlative footwear collection of wing tips and other standards. The New York-based menswear brand, which showed gigantic puffball hats for fall 2009 and a high-waisted swimsuit for the spring 2010 collection has chosen a strange collab partner, but it may be enough to blow the dust off a dowdy brand–and hopefully give enough lift to keep their own line going in rough economic waters. –Paul Dexter
