L.A. in the N.V.
As much as we love poring over all the new, under-the-radar collections at the semi-annual MAGIC/Project trade show in Las Vegas, we're always jazzed to see kids from the 'hood. Some of our favorite L.A. designers were definitely working it — sartorially speaking — doubling as models for their own sa-weet lines.
A few of our favorites...
Gabriela Artigas (left) and her sister
Artigas, one of L.A.'s best and most established jewelry designers, doesn't usually do trade shows, but was invited by Project organizers — an offer she couldn't refuse. The Mexico City native brought along her cutie-pie sister as her partner in crime.
Erik Hart of Factory by Erik Hart

Downtown L.A. denizen Erik Hart donned his usual avant-garde garb for the show, where he was hawking his slinky, sophisticated Factory by Erik Hart collection. Aren't his boots killer?
Ya-El Torbati, creative director for Raven Denim

Silver Lake resident Torbati posed in a pair of her drool-worthy Raven Jeans after showing us the new collection, which includes jaunty twill pants, terra-cotta colored denim trousers and "3-way" shorts that can be worn unrolled, cuffed once or fully rolled up. Voila!
Brett Westfall of Unholy Matrimony

Westfall, who felt more comfy being shot from behind, gushed over his new baby daughter, Moon, saying, "Isn't [parenthood] the most incredible thing you've ever been through?" Adorable.
Josh Stinson, designer for Orisue

Stinson, who started in fashion sewing backpacks as a teenager in a garage, rocked pieces from the Spring line from Orisue, a killer menswear line that incorporates urban, skater and preppy aesthetics.
