Sale Stalker: Fred Segal's 50%-Off Sale

If you aren't already all shopped out from the holidays, then the post holiday clearance sales, it's time to hit the famous Fred Segal 50% off sale, happening at Fred Segals across the city. We dropped by the Melrose flagship over the weekend to check out the deals.

Our first stop was in shoes. We don't know if they'd had a good selection that had already been wiped out, but we saw a single, anemic-looking rack of …um, how do we put this, highly improbable shoes. Like that Prada trompe l'oeil suede Mary Jane boot that's been photoghraphed to death, marked down to $750. The rack was mainly populated with garish, Vegas showgirl-esque stilettos, but we did see a couple pairs of Prada boots, woven out of rich leather, evoking a Bottega Veneta feel, for $700. Good thing for our wallet they didn't have our size.
