10 Style Haps to Get Excited About in 2012
Since Nostradamus predicted 2012 would be the year natural disasters would bring about "the end of times," we thought we'd sprinkle a little cheer by sharing our short list of things we're looking forward to this year. Before, you know, it's all over.
1. Marni for H&M, hitting stores March 8. We've loved the avant-garde brand for years, but it's remained staunchly out of reach, price-wise. Let the looks be direct knockoffs!

2. Witnessing Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy sure-to-be-insanely-awesome costumes for the L.A. Philharmonic's production of Don Giovanni, which debuts in May.

3. Seeing Sienna Miller shame all of us shlumpy moms with her Burberry-clad baby bump (she's preggo with boyfriend Tom Sturridge's child), which will be roughly the size of a grapefruit by its third trimester. And you thought Gwyneth was annoying.

4. Seeing who Dior chooses as its successor to John Galliano, who was fired after pulling a major Mel Gibson. Jil Sander's Raf Simons is rumored to be the top choice...this week.

5. Taking our first sense-enchanting sniff of Louis Vuitton's first-ever fragrance, set to launch later this year.

6. Jason Wu for Target, out February 5. Looks so cute, it hurts.

7. The precise moment we get to mock "designer" Kanye West's new, new line, DONDA, out later this year. According to West, the collection "will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce there dreams and ideas." Promises, promises.

8. Roger Vivier kids shoes — dubbed Roger Vivier Girl — out this March. We're dying to see if the iconic brand will shrink down its signature Pilgrim Pump (made famous by Jackie O.) for little gals.

9. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's exhibition "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations," debuting May 10, which will explore the link between legendary fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada.

10. Checking out the first issue of the Kardashians' new fanzine/magazine, "InesKapable." Then throwing up on it.
